Musings from a Middle School Basketball Coach !

Musings from a Middle School Basketball Coach :   We have 3 wins and 2 losses.   Must give the kids credit played hard  !  We beat two teams that we have not in the past few years but we also lost to a team that has also made progress.  My first goal is always to win the right way !  Everybody has an agenda so my job is to look out for my players.   How do they get to the next level !!!   The cool thing about Largo Florida great genetic pools of athletes.   I have something to work with however the system for the athletes is set up for ?    Male leadership/with sensitivity is so needed in our society especially with our minority population which will be the majority of our society soon.   Alpha males that can connect is what our society needs.   This is my Goal !  Praise Yah !!!

Reflections of a Middle School Basketball Coach ; First Season

Well we had a eventful season our record was only 4 wins and 6 losses.  I still think it was a very good year because we established a new culture or awareness for the athletes.   If we would have kept the same outlook we would have won perhaps 3 more games but at what cost.  Now the student/athletes know if they do not take care of their off the court responsibilities they will not play.  I also think we planted some seeds for the outgoing 8th graders who would eventually learn this most valuable lesson . Hopefully it will speed up the process.  We have 6 players coming back it bodes well for the future.   With a spring and summer program we should hit the court running and studying next year.  Praise Yah !
